Austin + Phoenix

So I'm sitting here at the airport on call for the whole month in Phoenix and it's been boring! But I do have to say that I would rather be on reserve in Phoenix instead of Dallas. I can't wait to actually fly more and have more time off to see family. I have time at the end of the month and get to go to Disney World!

I did fly to Austin again earlier this week for work and had a nice visit with the sister-in-law and baby nephew. It's been too long since I've seen them. We went to very hip Whole Foods that was way more sophisticated than most. I think it even had a bar?

Back in Phoenix, I've been spending time with friends and have been enjoying my rare days off window shopping and watching Netflix shows. Nothing too exciting!

I'm getting ready for the Christmas season by observing. It seems that all the stores and shops are more than ready. I'll be happy if I get Christmas and the days around it off, but I'm okay if I don't. Christmas can be celebrated for the whole season.

Although I'm never home and work a ton, I know that one day everything will work out. For now, I will have to miss holidays and gain life experience before I can gain my that part of my life back. I'm realizing that everything is a privilege, not a right.

Living in Phoenix This Month + Exploring New Places

Hello Everyone! Since I'm a Flight Attendant,  I was able to swap bases this month and am working out of the Phoenix airport instead of the Dallas airport. Yay! It's what I wanted because the trips are better and the places I fly to are more interesting. Phoenix is pictured below:

I will say that being based in Phoenix is significantly better than being based in Dallas.  It's way more scenic here and I enjoy the view of the rocky mountains. The weather is also more stable in Phoenix and does not change day to day like it does in Dallas.

Since I've last posted, (which was in October) I moved out of my Dallas crashpad temporary and am staying with my friends here in Phoenix. I will be switching back to Dallas in December.

Because I swapped bases, my schedule changed and I wasn't fully able to enjoy Halloween like I wanted.  The day before Halloween, I said my goodbyes to Dallas and flew to Florida for 26 hours and brought 100 pounds of stuff with me to take home. The following day, I flew to Phoenix on Halloween evening.

Flying over Amelia Island on Halloween.

It was really sad that I had to miss Halloween evening. It's my favorite holiday! But missing holidays is what you agree to when you become a flight attendant, right?

I will also miss Thanksgiving and Christmas. But that's ok, because I would rather have the first week off in December for Disney World and have part of the second week off for my birthday. As long as I can get those days off, I will be very happy.

Last week, I flew to Austin and San Antonio. I was able to spend some time with my Brother's sister-in-law in Austin and explored the Riverwalk in San Antonio. (Which was beautiful, btw.) I highly recommend that everyone check out Austin and San Antonio.
