Flight Attendant Life

Hello Everyone!

It's been over three and a half years since I've blogged on here!  For those who are new here or haven't seen, I'm a Flight Attendant for a major airline on the West Coast. My career as a flight attendant is very rewarding and continues to provide personal growth. I have explored many cities and states over the past three years including New York, Honolulu and San Diego. I have also flown into Orlando countless times and have gone to Disney World on my work layovers.

If you are interested in becoming a Flight Attendant, I'm going to share my personal experience and thoughts on this career:

At certain times, it has been challenging being away from home and family. I do however, get to fly for free (on standby) which eliminates the challenge of being on the other side of the country. Even though I live in Florida but work on the West Coast, I don't mind the commute. It's refreshing to get a taste of the East and West coast.

I am single and don't have kids. However, if you are considering on becoming a Flight Attendant, keep in mind it may be a completely different situation when you have a young family. This doesn't mean you will never see them or it will always be like that. You may be based in the city where you live, which would eliminate the separation between family.

Also keep in mind the longer you are a Flight Attendant, the more flexibility you will have with your schedule. Some Flight Attendants who have been with the company for a couple years or more, only work and handful of days each month and spend the rest of the time at home with their families. This career is super flexible on schedules, once you put your time in!

I love that I can choose to work a ton of hours in a month period to store up money. If I also want to scale it back, I can work less and spend more time at home with the family.

It is possible to buy a house on Flight Attendant pay, but you do have to be wise with your money! I'm currently cutting down on expenses and living a more financially conservative life so I can buy a house 2-3 years from now. I am also considering buying a condo in Florida or Phoenix and commuting, because living on the West Coast isn't cheap! (The airline I'm with only has bases on the West Coast.) However, there are many Flight Attendants who live on the West Coast and make it work. Since I am single, I am financially solo and will have to do what is best for me. This varies for each person.

You may also wonder why I just don't go and work for another airline that has a base on the East Coast. I personally chose the airline I'm with for a reason. I love the family friendly culture and love how I'm not just a number. I also get to fly to Hawaii literally ALL THE TIME which is something I wouldn't get to do at an other airline. I am very happy at my airline which makes the commute well worth it!!

There are so many topics involving a Flight Attendant's career. Those topics can be saved for another blog post, since there is so much information!!

In the meantime, check out my Youtube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/user/SaysHelloKitty
I will be posting video blogs of myself on layovers and also videos of myself on my days off. Thanks for being a loyal reader!

Cheers To A Happy Ending

Life can get pretty hectic. Sometimes even when it's not hectic, I spend much of my time occupied in my own thoughts trying to figure out the very next step.

This year has been a challenge for me. I've felt like I've taken a thousand steps forward and several hundred backwards. In the end, I came out ahead with a new career and some wonderful new lifelong friends. I'm very fortunate with how 2016 is ending. It took determination, strength and motivation to get me from the start to the finish of this year.

Back in April, I put complete faith in God for my future plans. At the time, it was a very complicated situation. I had to quit my job because I was offered a better job but then declined that job because I realized that is where I wasn't meant to be long term.

I headed home with all my things and actively nannied and worked hard through the summer until I came across a wonderful opportunity. This opportunity took time and patience before I was able to join in on it.  I ended up with a wonderful career with the company of my dreams and couldn't be more thankful. I'm so glad I listened to my gut and followed what God had in store for me. I am blessed.

My Mom has been supportive in everything I do. Love you Mom!

Over the past few months I haven't blogged. I love blogging and want to get back into it. Since I am a Flight Attendant and have some long layovers, I think I will make this my 2017 resolution to do in my spare time. I love being able to write and express myself. It's such an accomplishing feeling! (Not to mention fun!)

I really love posting on fashion as well. It's still awkward to ask someone to take my picture as I pose in my outfits, but it's really fun! Living on the West Coast, I feel more into fashion and find it more accessible.

Cheers to 2017 where there will be more happiness, fashion and love!

Four New Things in My Life

Well hey everyone! It's been a while since we've caught up. And since it has, I thought I would share Four things going on my life to catch everyone up. A lot has changed! Here they are:

One
I went on a cruise to the Bahamas at the end of May. It was lovely! I was invited as a guest by a family who I babysit for. They boys are older, but wanted me to tag along for fun. We went to the Atlantis resort on one of our days in the Bahamas.

I was able to get some video footage at the Atlantis waterpark and underwater with my phone. I bought the pink LifeProof case for my iPhone 6s and it worked great!  I had a wonderful time on the cruise!

Two
I get to work for the airline of my dreams! I flew to Seattle for an interview this past week and was selected for training this fall! I'm thrilled and beyond blessed to have this opportunity. It's a very "family-feel" airline which is why I've wanted to work for them. I was in Seattle for 36 hours just enough for the interview. I didn't get to sight see this time. I snapped some pics on my flight.

Mount Rainier I think? Right outside of Seattle.

Passing through Chicago.

I was super excited when I was invited for training!

Three
I'm home in Florida for the entire summer and working full time as a nanny and pet sitter. I've been taking the girls I nanny for to some of the local cat shelters around town. We spend our time keeping our furry friends company.

Four
I'm now an Independent Sells Consultant for Mary Kay AND Stella & Dot. I signed up for Mary Kay back in March through a friend who put me in contact with her director. My friend's director is now my director as well and I have learned so much about the skincare industry. I'm slowly making progress.

I decided to sell Stella & Dot alongside with Mary Kay to give woman some options. It's kind of like if Target only sold clothes, but if they sold food to, you would be more inclined to go there. But it's mainly because I love jewelry and makeup! I am doing this because I want woman to feel good about themselves!

I'm wearing the very light Mary Kay CC Cream foundation, Lash Intensity Mascara, Light/Medium Bronzer, and the Black Cherry MK lipstick.

Some of my sample items I order from my Stella & Dot starter kit!
